Bent Arrow Healing Society - Jake Greyeyes
Job Searching Skills
My name is Jake Greyeyes, and I moved to Edmonton many years ago from the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. When I first arrived, I enrolled in an Employment Program with the YMCA, which kickstarted my journey of learning effective job search strategies—a steep learning curve at the time. Over the years, I’ve adapted to evolving job search methods, particularly with the rapid growth of technology.
I began working with the Bentarrow Traditional Healing Society in 2007 at the Kokomish House Group home for teens and have since worked with youth in various capacities, including youth and employment support since 2009. In 2012, I expanded my work to adults. One constant throughout these years has been the challenge of finding meaningful full-time employment. The changing demographics and technological advancements have significantly impacted traditional job search strategies.
With my experience, I’ve developed a comprehensive approach to finding and securing meaningful employment. Together, we’ll explore strategies to help you land and keep your dream job.
